About GAMI

Our story, vision and beliefs.

Grace Ablaze Ministries International was born on the 18th of February 2007 out of a passion to build a holistic Christian ministry, faithful to the purity of the gospel.

Our story

Rooted in a call to holistic ministry.

Grace Ablaze Ministries International (GAMI) has its roots in the Baptist Union of Zimbabwe. Our founding Bishop, Bishop Ancelimo Magaya, served for more than ten years as a pastor and overseer of Hatfield Baptist Churches. Recognising fundamental differences in principles and practice, he sought an amicable separation to establish a church whose beliefs and practices would resonate with the vision we hold today.

Bishop Magaya and his wife Daphne were released by church leaders to start a ministry that would resonate with the vision the Lord had laid on their hearts, and Grace Ablaze Ministries International was born on the 18th of February 2007 — and, after much earnest prayer and godly counsel, was established in pursuance of the Great Commission, and of a passion to be faithful to the objectivity, universality and integrity of the gospel.

What we believe

Our Statement of Faith

The Ministry affirms its belief:

  • In God the Father, an infinite personal being, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love, who saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
  • In Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit; His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, intercession and personal visible return. He is the only Saviour for mankind.
  • In the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and regenerates, sanctifies and empowers all who believe; permanently indwelling every believer as helper, teacher and guide.
  • In God's revelation of Himself in history, through the Hebrew canon of the Old Testament and the incarnation of His Son, Jesus Christ, as recorded in the New Testament.
  • That the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and inerrant, with supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
  • That man was created in the image of God but fell through disobedience, and that all are sinners by nature and by choice, unable to be joined to God except through Christ.
  • In the necessity of the child of God to grow to full maturity in Jesus Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit, living a blameless, Christ-like life as a faithful steward.
  • In the Universal Church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head, and in the local church — a company of baptised believers gathered for worship, work and fellowship.
  • In the involvement of God in every aspect of life, so that no rigid line separates the sacred from the secular; the believer must live all of life for God.
  • In the necessity of the church to speak understandably and act relevantly to its context, welcoming all races and cultures while honouring the heritage and experience of the people of Zimbabwe.
  • In the two ordinances committed to the local church: baptism by immersion, and the Lord's Supper in commemoration of Christ's death, observed until His return.
  • In the reality of angels, the personality of Satan and his ultimate judgment, and the victory of the Lord Jesus Christ over all powers of darkness.
